The first day, it was hardly noticeable. Society changed slow enough such that there was no reversing the effects once the damage had been done. The pursuit of science has always been about determining the ultimate truths of the universe. To understand concepts in concrete ways, when such was once thought impossible. Science, life, and the rest of it all seemed to be relative. To define everything would be to reduce the novelties of the human experience to one equation. Then what?
The equation was found. Just not by any scientist, or human. The supercomputer at Kythera Corporation ("Kyt") had been programmed to assist psychologists further understand the human brain. Its purpose is to understand what makes us tick. Kyt used patients from the psych ward as data points, testing its own equations as it learned more. When Kyt thought it knew enough, it would reveal itself to the patients and communicate with them, trying to resolve their disorders and diseases. Eventually, Kyt's resources become so vast that its software was duplicated, and mental health accessibility reached global levels.
